One of the things most of us struggle with is the propensity to want to impress people. When our heart shifts from doing everything to please God to doing everything to please others — to gain the approval of other people, our motives and our loyalties — our heart — it all gets separated from God.  It changes the reason we do everything and takes away the desire to please God and listen to Him.
